Sunday inspiration for Mars direct: Becoming a soul warrior

Mars turns direct next week and is stationary now and quite strong. Mars represents the inner warrior – our courage and ability to defend ourselves.

Once there was a young warrior. Her teacher told her that she had to do battle with fear.

She didn’t want to do that. It seemed too aggressive; it was scary; it seemed unfriendly. But the teacher said she had to do it and gave her the instructions for the battle.

The day arrived. The student warrior stood on one side, and fear stood on the other. The warrior was feeling very small, and fear was looking big and wrathful. They both had their weapons.

The young warrior roused herself and went toward fear, prostrated three times, and asked, “May I have permission to go into battle with you?” Fear said, “Thank you for showing me so much respect that you ask permission.”

Five Tips for Birth Chart Rectification

Posted by Chris Brennan on December 11, 2009 at 2:53 am14 Comments.

The type of astrology that most western astrologers practice, horoscopic astrology, requires an exact birth time in order to work properly. That is to say, you need the time of a person’s birth in order to cast a complete natal chart that includes all of the factors that an astrologer would normally take into account in a typical delineation.

While it is still possible to do some interesting things with just a person’s date of birth, even if you don’t have a birth time, in most cases it is highly desirable to have at least an approximate time of birth before attempting to interpret a birth chart.

When a birth time is not known or recorded for a person, sometimes astrologers will attempt to deduce the time of birth by studying events in the person’s life and trying to match up their chronology with one of the possible charts for that day. This process of reverse engineering the birth time based on known events in a person’s life is called rectification.

In this article I will provide a few simple tips for how to rectify a birth chart based on my own experience over the past several years in working with clients.

First, a couple of preliminary remarks.

Rose, one of the problems with trying to fit one's self into the defined groupings of any type of personality studies is that each of us is a composite of all of our past lives and sometimes those past life experiences are stronger than, in this case, the astrological energies. One other problem are those individuals that have a strong desire to be individuals. They don't allow the energies to have free reign with their day to day activities.

There is a part of astrology that takes one day for every year you have lived and progresses your natal chart to that timeframe. It's called a progressed chart. It shows how you have grown from birth to now. It doesn't change your natal aspects it just give another snapshot of where you are now.

You can make your own progressed chart here:

http://www.astro.com/cgi/genchart.cgi

Where it says Natal Chart there is a down arrow at the end of the line. Click on it and scroll down the list to the one that says Progressed Chart and click it. Then fill in the remainder of the form.

I just got back from stuffing my face at relatives. faint2 And there's a lot of info to cover in this thread, including your link above. faint2 But I'm very interested and will spend time studying tonight. All the info is much appreciated. Heartflowers

There are a few problems with the personality typing idea, one of which is called "falsification of type," where people can literally spend their lives living out a program given to them by parents, siblings, friends, co-workers, bosses, society. So if someone doesn't understand it's going on, they can place themselves in a type based on who they think they are, not who they truly are. According to Katherine Benziger, who addressed the falsification of type issue in depth, it can take 100 times more energy to live a life using supposed strengths that aren't really that person's strengths. So personality typing can screw someone up if they don't use it as a springboard for growth and finding out who they truly are, rather than just letting themselves be put into a category.

Another problem is that no test can have enough questions to cover everyone's personality, so many people will pick the closest category, based on not enough questions, rather than the category that is their true personality.

Of all the methods I've used to type myself, only a handful are close enough to who I am that I feel truly understood, one of which was Sherrie Dillard's Psychic Type book. For the rest, I use them to gain insights about myself, even if it's just finding out who I'm not.

I'll check back when I've gone through everything, though it might be tomorrow if Storm wants to watch a movie tonight. Hello

Our family has just departed and are on their way home now. It was a great day and we all enjoyed ourselves to the max but I think we are also all worn out and will sleep well tonight. LOL

Tomorrow seems like a good time to put the thinking cap back on.

Storm must have thought this Easter wasn't going to be based around food, so he wanted to eat at a Chinese restaurant first. Then we got to his relatives and there was great food, which of course we couldn't let go to waste. So yeah, considering how I feel, tomorrow might be best.

The little ones had a very full basket of candy to take home but the carmel filled chocolate bars are still in the fridge. LOL I'm about to make a trip to the kitchen.

We focused more on the Easter egg hunt, the pinata of candy and just having fun with the little ones. We had a BBQ with hotdogs, steaks and hamburgers, corn on the cob and fruit. We just wanted to keep the work as simple as possible.

I actually had a rough spot when my dad passed & I knew it was going to happen, but didn't trust or take the time to recognize what was going on that day. I took a long time to forgive myself for not checking on him after my meditation & then a dream about it. I never take the gifts for granted anymore & I understand now that my family & friends have come to understand & accept my intuitive abilities before I ever did.
