There has just been a 6.2 in Taiwan. California is going a little nuts, small quakes, but this might be meaningful.

Cleveland Volcano on Aleutians spews ash plume

Associated Press - October 3, 2009 10:34 AM ET

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Geologists are on alert after the Cleveland Volcano spewed an ash plume up to 20,000 feet.

The Alaska Volcano Observatory reports that the volcano on Alaska's Aleutians Islands erupted late Friday, prompting the observatory to raise the mountain's threat level to code orange.

Cleveland is about 940 miles southwest of Anchorage, on a remote and uninhabited island.

The observatory says the 5,676-foot volcano's last significant eruption began in February 2001 and eventually produced a lava flow that reached the ocean.

It says ash emissions from Cleveland were most recently seen in June.

There are some with low magnitudes, around 2. This is not so common, a 4.

I have the firefox EQ add-on, but I don't get the information where the earthquakes are anymore. Only a shaking screen.

I've tried adding updates and stuff, but still no go. Anyone else have that problem?

Hey Heidilore.

I lived on the western flank of Mauna Loa for eight years,
and never gave it a thought.

The earthquakes were so common it never bothered.

I feel the earth is under some pressure right now. Whether this is the catalyst to a bigger EQ, I am unsure. There is something going on, perhaps a rumbling volcano we should be concerned with.

Right click on the bottom, where it says the mag of the EQ and the location. Pick recent quakes from the menu. I hope it helps! Heartflowers
