"Marketing Research" aka subliminal advertising
About 5 years back I was strapped for cash along with my buddy. We were at the mall and were offered ten dollars to take a survey. They were set up as a store in the mall, an 'office' type area off to the side.

We were to fill out a little 'who are we' paper, and led to one of them double sided mirror rooms. My friend and I being jokesters just danced and whatnot for the mirror.

The guy then came in and asked us what we were more likely to try, to drink, to buy based on looks...

Then was the weird part. I alone was led to another room, given headphones and told to look at a screen. The screen flashed images of mcdonalds, BP, shell, kfc, all that kid of thing over and over and over again. I was then asked to pick out what I remember seeing.

Not a bad little 'subliminal advertising' setup..disguise it as a survey and flash images at me. although I do not have the urge to buy BP or shell any time soon....

Wow. The ones I go to, we get to eat the food, drink the drink (except for the budweiser research group), and talk about the product that is in front of us, up for discussion.
Usually 2 hours, and get paid 100.00.

The last one I went to was a reasearch group on frozen organic foods. We got lots of samples, then had to have a group discussion.
Yes there were the 2 way wall mirrors, and the head marketing person that sat and took notes while asking us questions.

Love going to these things. The one before that was sex toys.
Specifically vibrators. =)

No, we didnt try them out on each other.

I get called / emailed regularly for 2 of them in my city. They give you a short interview on the phone, then call you back and let you know if you qualify for that particular group. It's pretty cool.

I was embarrased at first over the sex toy one, cause there's no telling what the others are doing on the other side of the 2 way mirror. We had to give our opinion on some interesting new toys.

I think out of the 15 we saw & discussed, there was only 1 that was do'able.

Do other women really put their toys in the dishwasher ?
