teach Misunderstood Bible verse- Mark 13.6
Mark13.6
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many

Many believe that this verse implies false Christs who arise and claim to be Jesus or messiah. That's not what I think he meant with this statement. I don't think the sheep are quite that easy to deceive. Maybe they are, some undoubtedly are.

Look at Matthew 24:24
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Plainly states the rise of false Christs and prophets. Also says with "if it were possible" they could decieve the elect. Sure makes it sound like it isn't a good possibility to deceive the elect.

Mark 13.6 is saying something much different and that many will be deceived. How?
By claiming Jesus Christ is lord and saviour...saying I (Jesus) am Christ. This has more to do with the apostate condition of Christianity. I've seen it happen to so many. These are the Christians today who lost the true message either because of corrupted leadership or because they simply don't want to give up the corrupt pleasures of their worldy lives. They pick and choose what suits their world view instead of picking up their crosses and truely following Christ. In my opinion there aren't very many true christians left but then Jesus did say many would be called but few would be chosen.

Agree or disagree?

I think I might have to agree with you. Are you saying instead of "Christ" in the verse, the author was referring to those who call themselves "Christians"?

OP, I am unsure of what you are saying. Are you saying that Jesus wasn't Christ, or that multitudes will be deceived...can you clarify?

I'm basically saying the deceivers will claim Jesus as lord and saviour...as they lead their flocks away from Jesus' message.
A corrupt church in other words.

The elect cannot be deceived, hence the 'IF it were possible...'

Same scriptures from the higher dimensional translation of the Melchizedek Bible....compared against standard scripture...

Standard:
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Melchizedek:

22 "So that those days may be few, no carnal elements can be saved, but for the sake of scientifically spiritual thinkers those days will be few.

standard:

23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here [is] Christ, or there; believe [it] not.

Melchizedek:

23 "Then if anyone will declare to you, 'Look, here is Truth, or there,' believe it not.

Standard:

24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Melchizedek:

24 "For false way-showers and false prophets will appear, and will show great signs and wonders, insomuch that, if it were possible, they will deceive the clearest thinkers.

I would say that the whole bible has been misinterpreted to that extent. Hiding

But stuff like that is just too obvious.
I think modern churches have become too ingrained with worldly affairs. Big churches have become big business. You know how Jesus felt about the money changers.

I've been searching for a church that DOESN'T use the 501c3 tax break, which I believe has allowed churches to easily become giant, MEGA-church,corporations. But, I haven't found one....

Mat 21:12 Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves.

Mat 21:13 And He said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of thieves.'"

History DOES repeat itself!

I agree with you.

Christ did warn there would be wolves among the sheep. And I have seen them. Theres one tv preacher whose name I cannot remember who used to be on tv every day saying that if I would give him a 1000 dollars Jesus would do pretty much anything I asked. And if He didn't it was because I lacked faith. And the only way to prove my faith was to send him another 1000.

Lmao

This just caught my attention...

And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Could that be another reference to the Rapture?
