Thesis: people are addicted to power and control -- over their lives and that of others.

It causes misery both for the one addicted and those over whom the individual or groups of such individuals attempt to exert power and control.

Juan Star has shown his disapproval.

That is an attempt to exert control in and of itself.

Case in point.

Are you sure you want to get me started on this subject...?

I've got forever, you know... and this well is deep.

Mods are a case in point. Why else would they spend so much time online on a forum for free.

If you don't seek some modicum of control over your own life then you are a fool. As for seeking control and power over others you really shouldn't think out loud that way. You reveal too much of yourself.

It doesn't cause me any misery but I shall do my best to resist your powerful self. chuckle

Why can't I think out loud?

Why do you want to oppress me?

Political agenda?

Perhaps it has shown up here on LOP. Although that probably isn't the only reason.

Some people have always been little mommies and daddies.

It's how they roll/role.

Come on.

Such passive disapproval isn't enough.

I feel like a prisoner and I guess I am.

My first duty in that case would be to try to escape.

It would really be a duty to myself.

And it is.
