UPDATE II: M8,4! First couple of major flares ...
From reappearing sunspot 1039 which is just coming over the limb, could mean we have to be prepared for more from that spot ...

I too was supposing it likely has been much stronger than the M2 measured by GOES:
Considering the fact that the sunspot was not even visible from Earth at the time, the flare was probably much stronger than its M2 classification would suggest.

There was never a direct connection of solar flares with EQ's, sun was totally calm for two years and these flares clearly came behind the Haiti catastrophe.

I think that theory is just a distraction try from Haarp and other secret devices the PTA have at their disposal to make EQs.

I do believe there is a direct link between solar flares and earthquakes. If you look it logically, with everything connected (magnetosphere, magnetics) it makes sense. When animals sense an earthquake, it is due to magnetics.

There may be a link between gamma ray bursts and earthquakes.

BIG NEW SUNSPOT: A big new sunspot is rapidly emerging in the sun's northern hemisphere. Rogerio Marcon sends this picture taken just hours ago from his backyard observatory in Campinas, Brasil:

The active region is crackling with solar flares. The strongest so far is an M2-class eruption at 1900 UT on Feb. 6th. Each of the spot's dark cores is about twice as wide as Earth, which makes it an easy target for backyard solar telescopes. Stay tuned for solar activity!
