Geesh. I wonder if Van Halen , Bob Seger or Ted Nugent will be inducted to the Motown Hall of Fame? Nope......

There's a lot of other music genre's in there that don't belong. Looks like just another one of many, stupid things.....

Makes no sense. First off, rap isn't generally considered music. Secondly, it's about as similar to rock & roll as it is to classical.

I detest rap. Sorry but it's rubbish, like most of the music or the shit that all sounds alike, that they play on the radio these days.

Growing up in Ohio during the 70-80's was a special time for rock and rollers. You probably wouldn't understand if I told you, but suffice it to say that there were thousands of garage bands who wrote their own music, and many made it big in the region. This was grass roots artistry and it means a lot to the people there, especially now that American Idol has come out and revealed the truth about how people make it in the music business these days. They no longer need their own music, they just copy someone else's and are no longer artists- they are nothing but glorified kareoke singers. It sucks, imo.

And actually, I don't really care too much, but was just surprised when I saw rappers in the Hall of Fame. It's name should be changed..

Whatever happened to black rock musicians?

The last big one I can think of Lenny Kravitz and that was over 20 years ago now. And he was only half-black.

I know lots of black people who like rock, and even goth and heavy metal... Sometimes I wonder if you're black you only get 'in' and promoted at all if you perform certain types of music and that even Jimmy Hendrix would have as hard a time now breaking in as he did back then.

Would someone post a link to a rap song that could be considered rock and roll?
