Should have left it for someone from the town to come pick it up. Call in a complaint. Outside of major cities here in the states, the highway department is responsible to pick up dead animals.

The vet is a private practice with un-subsidized operating costs. He has every right to charge a disposal fee. He reduced the price as a gesture of good will toward the good samaritan. You have to pay when you take trash to the town dump, wether it's your own, or you found it on a street corner.

End all be all though, this lady sound like she's a goody goody who got her knickers in a twist. She does a good deed, but pawns it off on someone else to actually do the good deed? WTF is that shit? She doesnt want to pay the fee? Well then get out yer shovel lady.

This is no bullshit the story I am about to tell. There was a "cat lady" who got evicted from the apartments I lived in years ago. There were about 30 cats that got put out. In the plaza up front, there is a CHinese food place. The cats dissapeared overnite, and they had a special for the next few days. Not even kidding.

It's stories like that that make people afraid to help others in need. You do a good-Samaritan act and can get sued or charged when all you were doing was what others say to do to show kindness and help others.

I rescued a kitten 6 or so months ago from the street and brought it to my vet. I literally heard a collective breath released when I said I was willing to adopt the animal if it turned out to not be seriously sick. I do wonder if I'd just said I wanted it helped and neutered and wanted to walk what would have happened with that vet.

I also wonder what would have happened to a motor cycle rider had I not stopped, a child who had his finger cut off by a neighbors friend, a small fire by the side of the road.... etc... had I not intervened.

so... if I find a dead human on the side of the road I should either

1. bury him myself
2. be prepared to pay a disposal fee
3. call a chinese place to take care of the problem
