Any suggestions why the government needs fourteen million doses of radiation meds?

Fukushima.

But I know you're against that.

Try to figure the location of the requisition.

If it's west coast then you know the answer...

Not completely opposed, my current viewpoint is that it's unlikely.

Location is Perry Point,MD 21902

A simple and logical answer would be that their last batch was coming to the end of its shelf life.

Very plausible. What's the shelf life?

Nevermind, I found it.

What is the shelf life of KI tablets?

As with all drug products, the manufacturer must specify an expiration date of the drug on either the package or the individually wrapped tablet. The NRC distributes two tablet strengths of potassium iodide, 130 and 65 mg tablets. The shelf life of IOSAT 130 mg tablets is 7 years and the shelf life of ThyroSafe 65 mg tablets is 6 years.

For States interested in extending the shelf life of KI, the FDA has published guidance on shelf life extension for the tablet form of potassium iodide. Extending the shelf life of KI tablets is possible due to the inherent stability of the chemical form. However, the tablets must be stored under the conditions specified by the manufacturer to be considered for shelf life extension. In addition, this guidance only is intended for Federal agencies and State and local governments that maintain KI stockpiles under the conditions specified by the manufacturer.

Nope… cosmic stuff

I'm willing to accept Fukushima is a problem for Americans with reliable evidence. What evidence do you have that proves Galactic Fleet or whatever you call it cleaned up Fuku?

It does make me laugh the way you get all uppity because we don't believe your far out delusional version of how the world works. Your shrinks must have some awesome stories to tell.

there is no reliable evidence pointing to FUKU…. if you want some evidence and cannot FEEL the incoming gamma rays from the cosmos and those of fleet, I suppose you need a geiger counter of some sort. The "evidence" that it is cleaned up comes from the reports at times that the reactor cores have disappeared. Such appeared here on LOP again maybe a couple weeks or so ago. You will never "believe" my far out stuff until you grow your mind… start there … Did not "Jesus" say we would be be looked at, as strange and weird to the unknowing? You are the perfect example. I have no shrinks by the way,, just folks on the net LIKE YOU who come to make these very unlovely statements on purpose to screw with others and attempt to turn them away. Heartflowers

Stop the religious garbage and date threads. Your world is f*cked UP and its time to UNFUCK it. And it can only be unfucked by realizing YOU ARE GOD MANIFEST

So that their buddies, that own the companies that make the iodine, can get filthy rich.

Haven't you morons figured out how it all works yet?

What is Potassium Iodide (KI)?

KI (potassium iodide) is a salt of stable (not radioactive) iodine that can help block radioactive iodine from being absorbed by the thyroid gland, thus protecting this gland from radiation injury.

The thyroid gland is the part of the body that is most sensitive to radioactive iodine.

People should take KI (potassium iodide) only on the advice of public health or emergency management officials. There are health risks associated with taking KI.

KI (potassium iodide) does not keep radioactive iodine from entering the body and cannot reverse the health effects caused by radioactive iodine once the thyroid is damaged.
•KI (potassium iodide) only protects the thyroid, not other parts of the body, from radioactive iodine.

KI (potassium iodide) cannot protect the body from radioactive elements other than radioactive iodine—if radioactive iodine is not present, taking KI is not protective and could cause harm.

Table salt and foods rich in iodine do not contain enough iodine to block radioactive iodine from getting into your thyroid gland. Do not use table salt or food as a substitute for KI.

Do not use dietary supplements that contain iodine in the place of KI (potassium iodide). They can be harmful and non-efficacious. Only use products that have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Doesn't make any sense. It only protects the thyroid from radiated KI and nothing else. So the threat must be in the form of ionizing radiated sea salt or radiated salt found in ocean fish, food. So...they are stocking up for no reason or the above threat, along with Fukushima is worse than is being reported. Has there been any truthful testing conducted for radiated sea salt in the atmosphere, rain water, or sea food?

East coast?

Unless it's for the government officials for Washington DC or that's just the delivery point and not the storage point, anti-radiation tablets on the east coast would be strange.

I'm not aware of any - admitted - radioactivity for that area unless there's a plant in meltdown or leaking nuclear radiation they simply forgot to announce there.

If it's Fukushima that area makes no sense unless they plan to evacuate to there. If it's not Fukushima then that's all the more worrying because it's something else.
