Important topic !!! Fajbared

am I missing something here... how is this topic pin worthy?

I think anything that helps put dentists and the stronghold they have on people's wallets is pin worthy - along with not using anything artificial containing fluoride and never having to see three million different brands of toothpaste in the supermarket again!

how does the oil leave the brush?

slimy or clean?

The brush isn't oily. I rinsed it in warm water afterwards and I'm thinking if it removes toxins from the teeth it would also remove bacteria from the brush.

i thought that too! but idk...what lives in oil?

I'm a big advocate for coconut, for my teeth I use a mixture of coconut oil, baking soda and peppermint oil.

For a face lotion I use coconut oil with a a drop of tea tree oil in the mixture--I made the mixture in a small jar.

I have a deodorant recipe I'm going to make soon using coconut oil as well.

Oil can build up over time, but it is typically edible and good for you as well as long keeping. You normally don't have to worry about stuff building up/living in oil. Daily use shouldn't be a problem. Oils can sink in and stain but that tends to be fabric related.

Well I'm wondering if it's unprocessed oil maybe that reduces what can thrive in it, bad bacteria wise?

I've been using CO for about a couple of months, a tblsp in the morning. Don't care for the oily part but a couple swigs of coffee fixes that. Probably should increase it to 2 a day and see what happens.

I bought the stuff from the supplement aisle at WM and it has a coconut flavor. Not real crazy about the flavor. Bought a jar of Spectrum Organic CO for the next batch. Hoping it has less flavor. Cheaper too. Trying to get the wife to switch over from cheap cooking oil to olive and/or coconut oil.

But, so far, it has lived up to the expectations. Lessening the bags under the eyes, weight is slowly dropping off, energy levels up. This has really helped with AR. I can go all day sometimes without any Tums or the generic Pepcid. The family has been fighting the crud going around since Christmas. Came real close to having symptoms for a few hours here and there, nothing has taken hold yet.

Haven't tried it for toothpaste yet. Still experimenting with DE for that.

More people need to learn about CO. Anything to help counteract the rest of the horrible food we are forced to eat.

yes! its like a damn SUPERWEAPON we have at our disposal.
goes through the entire body, sweeping the bad out of its way.
i WILL try a spoonful in my coffee tomorrow morning...kept wanting to but now im inspired.
Jhikpghf

I think you'll like it in your coffee. I like my coffee black but the coconut oil in it doesn't bother me a bit. My hands and feet are dry, I'm about to go try some CO on them. Heartflowers

you can massage out the wrinkles on your face, just pinch twisting the skin in your finger tips is going to tighten it up in a hurry and light slapping is going to flush the skin with blood and add a fatty layer underneath it that provides the look of youthfullness

Oddly enough, even though it is "oil" it doesn't seem to be greasy and it definitely doesn't linger. It seems to soak in pretty quick. Warm water cleans it right up. Maybe it has something to do with the medium and short chain thingies it's made from. Very stable, doesn't need refrigeration and doesn't get rancid for a long time. Melts at about 76 degrees.

The tablespoon I use goes in a glass with an ounce or so of hot water to melt the stuff, toss it down like a shot of tequila and chase it with the coffee. Somehow, sipping it isn't an option. Melt it, chug it and get it over with. But that's just me.

I've read where people use it on their toast like butter. Haven't tried that yet. It does make some tasty scrambled eggs and diced ham. Brown the ham in it, add the egg mix.

A drop of dish soap and rinse the glass with hot water, no problem.

Don't find fault. Find a remedy. - Henry Ford

I confess.....I requested the pin. Those who don't have dental issues may think it's "stupid" but I didn't request it for the toothy know it alls. Maybe they'll like it some day if their teeth and gums ever start hurting....until then, we'll just annoy the crap out of them with 'worthless' information. Cheers!
