I don't know how you get around EU censorship. American thinker is a conservative news and opinion site, nothing controversial I would say.

hmmm, seriously, i have to ask WHY is an article from a BLOG (!) , dated "March 18, 2019" six weeks later pinned, 29. April, on LOP ???

UNpin this schitt ! - or present actual pics from NEWS sources ...

Just going to be the same thing that happened to the Teton Dam.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teton_Dam

If this were to happen at Oroville the evacuation area would be massive. When the evacuation took place in 2017 after the spillway failed it took several days to a week to complete evacuation of the at risk people downstream. In the Teton dam case there was very little time to act as the initial leak widened very quickly into failure. If I could give any advice to those living downstream from Oroville it would be to watch the dam carefully in the weeks to come because the dam is almost at capacity, the most dangerous time. A warm spring storm could bring torrents of water into the dam from the record snowpacks. Here is a site that records the height of the water behind the dam:
http://oroville.lakesonline.com/Level/

Here is a Spillway cam for current views of the spillway. The spillway has now been used for several days as a test but we don't know when it will be used again:

http://www.parks.ca.gov/live/lakeorovillesra_spillway

If you go to this link you can see some water coming down the spillway right now.

what ???

TOPIC here is oroville DAM failure !!!
EDIT
Oroville Dam Leaking Again
/EDIT

now pops up a new round of bla bla about a wet SPILLWAY !!!

that is NOT related to a topic DAM failure.

FEARMONGERING it is ...:-(

worst case for a spillway : repeated destruction like in 2017 ...

But there is an untested EMERGENCY spillway ...

any news (+ actual pics) about that ?

its actual 18 feet left to the top of EMERGENCY spillway. Dam itself is a lot higher and not in danger !

RE: Oroville Dam Leaking Again
Less than 20' to go before we see what will happen.
It's going up about 2' per day.
So May 5 looks like doom day.
No way that thing can handle over 20,000 cfs.

So however long letting it dribble out will buy them.

If it worked right--they would be using it right now.

44575 is right, the emergency spillway can't operate until the water level in the reservoir rises to it's crest elevation.

Are they having problems with the regular spillway/outlet works?

They say no, but it has never been this high except the time it failed in 2017.
Mud coming out the drains indicates it's leaking under the spillway and displacing dirt.

The official line is "No problem--just letting the lake fill up."

(except it has swamped the boat ramps by now--so "recreation" is failing as an excuse.)

The issue is: the state and federal governments have been malfeasance in maintaining the infrastructure in which we all rely upon for a quality life.

The press is now an official mouthpiece (propaganda) of the government so they will not tell you this. It's good to keep stories like this in front of people's faces so they never forget how badly they've been screwed.

City managers making $450,000 per year with full $500,000 a year pensions while the whole structure rots. It's disgusting.

My conspiracy theory is that California is being fumigated
for the new owners prior to move-in.

They want the lake to fill up because they are in a drought with water shortages and incompetence in planning.

But the emergency spillway started showing problems in 2017 because of a huge rainstorm that occurred in the watershed. Many dams were topping out and their emergency spillways were operating.

That's when you get to see how much has been swept under the rug while .gov pigs got fat at your expense.

When you stare into a mirror and nobody is there, you will know the reflection has become self aware.
