This was the latest arrival of spring in 38 years of records for parts of Kansas and Oklahoma. Portions of Washington and Oregon also saw the latest spring start on record.

In parts of the Plains, in places like South Dakota, Nebraska and even into Oklahoma, a late spring like this year's only happens once every 10 or more years.

By May 12, only 30 percent of the nation's corn acreage had been planted, 36 points behind the 5-year average. The corn planting in Illinois as of May 12 was the slowest on record, dating back to 1979, according to Karen Braun, global agriculture columnist at Thomson Reuters.

The soybean crop is also behind schedule, and as of May 12, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) said that just nine percent of the nation's soybean acreage was planted, 20 points behind the 5-year average.

Get ready for skyrocketing prices for staple foods as well as luxuries.

It's snowing across like five or six states and freezing here.

"Global warming", my ass! Anon

We can thank public education for the dumbing down effect, and the FDA for the fluoride so that people can't realize just how dumb they are.

Latest spring arrival in thirty eight years...

I was alive back then...

Don't recall any mass starvation...

Or any hype about the topic.

I do recall that Jimmy Carter's Russian boycott hurt wheat farmers big time around then.
In the seventies they were encouraged to take on debt.
Told to plant fence to fence
They ain't making more land so buy buy buy!

And then the bubble popped.
So many farmers went broke overnight.

THESE THINGS ARE ALL PLANNED IN ADVANCE

AND TIMED

Reminds me that i got a little baggie of pot seeds stashed in the garage.
I'll dig those out and get ready to plant them in the yard.
Its legal to grow upto 4 plants per househould now.
They even are promoting it on the local news here

The length of the growing season, is a big factor in cannabis potency.
That's why no one could ever grow anything good in Wisconsin.

I font know what your season length is there.
But, it will only make it better, if you start them early indoors, and transplant out, when the weather is right.
Also.. wait to harvest, as long as you can. Don't be tempted to harvest early.

Back in the 60s a friend of mime tried to grow some in Wisconsin. He used the best seeds he could find.
He has some of the most beautiful looking pot, I have ever seen. It was Sticky! But, it 2as totally worthless. Tissue

If he had waited to harvest until it was wilting and drying, it might have made for ditch weed so.some one might have used in desperation. As it was it was useless.

And corn futures are soaring.

People know that there will be shortages and they're pig-piling
on the futures.

If the weather gets colder, and because of the Sun being the weakest in 200 years that is likely, large areas of the Northern Hemisphere will no longer grow wheat or corn. At that time the US will unite with Mexico, and huge agricultural developments will happen there. Already Mexico only lacks water to become the greatest agricultural country in the world. New developments will allow water production cheaply enough to make Mexico green.

To make the Mexicans feel good we will name the US "Northern Mexico". When the US took Hawaii away from the Hawaiians the only thing left of Hawaii are street names. ALL the streets have Hawaiian names. I was a realtor for about 5 years here and represented a local Hawaiian family that had about 3000 acres stolen by the sugar cane company. Hawaiians ended up with ZILCH.
