One thing I hate is tight parking spaces with no room to open your door. Also having to squeeze out and others hitting your car.

Why are they not more cars with sliding driver and passenger doors ?

Like in a van with the passenger sliding doors but have them for the front also.

Could be one door for each side,
or two doors with different parallel tracks ?

A coup (2-door) wouldn't be so hard, but in a 4-door passenger car the front seat doors would slide back over the rear passenger doors so you couldn't open them.

It’s easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.

This is possibly the best idea I have ever heard of in my entire life Ghostie!

Makes one heck of a lot of sense.

Not really you could have two tracks for front and back. Instead of Opening outwards just make the door frame a little wider for room for track.

Are they not opening the wrong way ?
The problem with this is if your in a tight space you would still end up hitting the other car as they open up.
They need to slide back like in a van.

okay but how do the people in the back get out when the front doors are blocking their exit?

well could be one door for the entire side maybe.
or like i said a design that would have two tracks for each door parallel to each other. Like half a door for the driver side on one track that locks in place then the back passenger door track.

The front door track would have to go to the rear, covering up the rear passenger exit/entrance. No way could the rear seat passengers exit/enter at the same time as the driver and front seat passenger. There's a good reason 3rd seat minivans don't have a slider door for the 3rd row of seats and the passengers must exit through the same doors as the 2nd row passengers.

I am sure someone could come up with a good design.

This is what we need with the spaces getting so tight

Some sedans have one door and the driver's seat tilts forward so the passengers can get in the back. Then the driver's seat tilts back and the driver gets in.

I could see doing that with a sliding door so you could park in tight spaces.

Something like that is exactly like I am talking about.
