Very good idea- the bottom of the tent is plastic coated to insulate from the wet ground.

Better idea, use recycled plastic in 3d printers to print out 3 panels you can link together to form the same structure.

Uh huh.
Recycling plastic could reduce the plastic dumped in the ocean as well as provide moisture proof shelters. Awesome ideas.

Those tents should be sold commercially to hikers - cardboard is light. It needs plastic coating on the top to protect from light rain/mist.
These have to be used in a somewhat sheltered place like an open garage, a hallway or something like that

Just a tarp rolled up and secured to the bottom of your pack works better. You can always make stakes and poles out of natural materials in the woods. These cardboard tents are just cheaper to distribute and easier to set up in the streets. Because they are stiff and reinforced with ridges. No need for poles or stakes.

With that $5, btw, I happen to be able to afford alcohol all day, marijuana, kratom, enough food, cigarettes, internet acess, electricity and the ability to define "your" reality.

How exactly are you able to do that? How do you acquire those things with just $5 a day? That is $35 a week.

Cardboard Shelter: Brussels homeless people given tents to sleep

A Belgian designer has come up with an origami cardboard shelter to hand out to homeless people during the winter. The idea is to prevent deaths on the streets due to the cold and to provide rough sleepers with some privacy. Jack Parrock reports.

Very cool

You know all those signs candidates put up for election? Those can be recycled into waterproof tents for every homeless person in the country after just one election! chuckle

There was a man who did that and put it on wheels behind his bike as he traveled cross country. And of course it is water proof and more durable than cardboard. Plus it’s free. You just have to collect them after a big election! Some of those signs are huge. And just go to wast afterwards anyway. I’m surprised no one had this idea already.

They are obviously lying.

10 smokes is 5 bucks. A gram of weed is 6 bucks. A tiny bottle of vodka is 5 bucks. Internet access is free if you are mobile and can get to an A&W or Rotten Ronnies or other such place. Power is not free unless you are um borrowing it. Any other drugs you might want do cost money and not just pennies. And food again unless you are depending on handouts or the generosity of others is not free and good luck buying 3 squares a day for 5 bucks.

You'd freeze to death if you tried to live in a cardboard tent in Australia's winter. How is someone supposed to survive a European winter in one? Apart from the sheer cold, water destroys cardboard, or are they giving out gigantic cardboard umbrellas, too?

What, tent not good enough for you? consider it an invitation to get a job. Working serves others. yes, navigating the maze of social interactions and conditions is hard as hell, add in mental illness and addictions for added spice, undersocialised personality, entitlement, victim mentality.

get treated for addictions and personal issues
wear clean clothes
apply for a job in something you like
fired? simply try again, rinse and repeat
f*#k em if they cant take a joke
stay at the job until they stop firing you
you learn lots of valuable social skills working with normies
others serve you with their love
and you serve others with your love

learn self respect and feeling attractive, good for romance rawrrrrr tiger
party town on weekends

Currently I use about $5 a day (and only because of massively overpriced sh*t which was demonized by say, corporate greed, agricultural destruction, pharmaceutical horseshit).

Do you have any advice for me on becoming a writer?

I don't use a smartphone, though, which helps.

Oh, I see.... Well then, what about facebook?

I mean, not using a smartphone helps.

Are you connected to the internet directly with wires attached to your forehead?

Have you ever sprayed scotch guard on paper or cardboard?

I knew some people that taped the seams of a refrigerator box, sprayed scotch guard in 2 coats, inside and out, and made in into a wading pool. It lasted about 4 days.

Yes!
