could this be the virus they will release during the olympics?

If it's gone with the Olympic team or supporters it won't need to be released.

You have a highly contagious disease with a date rate of around 68%.

It's not acting normal which is making it harder to diagnose and it has a 21 day incubation rate which makes it very difficult to quarantine.

Also, healthy or healed male patients can carry the disease in their sperm which allows it to be passed on after the patient thinks they are okay.

Truly terrifying virus.

They are, however, highly infectious as breathable 0.8–1.2 micrometre droplets in laboratory conditions; because of this potential route of infection, these viruses have been classified as Category A biological weapons.

Since ebola viruses do not spread via aerosol, the most straightforward prevention method during EVD outbreaks is to avoid direct (skin-to-skin) contact with patients, their excretions and body fluids, or possibly contaminated materials and utensils. Patients ought to be isolated but still have the right to be visited by family members. Medical staff should be trained and apply strict barrier nursing techniques (disposable face mask, gloves, goggles, and a gown at all times). Traditional burial rituals, especially those requiring embalming of bodies, ought to be discouraged or modified, ideally with the help of local traditional healers.

Meh until it hits the US no big deal. They have had outbreaks of Ebola in Africa several times.

In 1989, an Ebola virus subtype Reston, was isolated in quarantined laboratory cynomolgus monkeys (Macacca fascicularis) in Reston, Virginia, USA. From 1989 to 1996, several outbreaks caused by the Ebola Reston subtype occurred in monkeys imported from the Philippines to the USA (Reston in Virginia, Alice in Texas and Pennsylvania) and to Italy. Investigations traced the source of all Ebola Reston outbreaks to one export facility near Manila in the Philippines, but the mode of contamination of this facility was not determined. Several monkeys died, and at least four people were infected, although none of them suffered clinical illness.

Not just people can transfer the virus.

Uganda and other regions of Africa have proven to be a perfect place to test a wide range of biological weapons, especially modified and combined strains.

We'll know pretty quickly if this is doom. It's in the capital now, not in some outback village where it takes 3-4 days to get anywhere.

IF (big if) this mutation has gone airborne we'll see a rapid spike in casualties. If not, then they have a chance to contain it.

Especially bad is if the info about "normal flu symptoms" turns out to be true.

Folks, if you see the numbers spike to 20, 40, 100 then it's time to bring in the tomato plants.

What's alerted me is the location of the infection...the capital. A big city hosting a virulent contagious disease is a Bad Thing.

The two cases in the capital were a patient from western Uganda and a care worker.

Over 200 Kibaale schools closed

Over 210 schools in Ebola-hit areas of Kibaale have been ordered to break off early for holidays. All schools in the country are expected to officially close at the end of this week.

The district health officer, Dr. Dan Kyamanywa, said he had only advised that schools break off for holidays early as part of measures to control the spread of Ebola.

Well 'Bad Luck Dave' and his bleeding heart Administration is probably importing it along with Poverty and his insane multicultural policies...let's mingle. Who knows what's landing at Heathrow when customs staff are looking for al-Qaeda bombs?

I'll copy my posts from earlier today to this one.

That's right. Again the guest poster gets snubbed for breaking a story before the major news outlets even picked it up and the avatar gets the pin.
