I wonder how many panic sex babies will be born in 9 months?

Perhaps they did it on purpose to make people think about where they would shelter.

This is a good thing, I wish it had been nationwide.

For 60 years we have been lording over the rest of the world with our nuclear umbrella. But nobody takes it seriously until you think that nukes may actually be incoming.

Once you get startled into awareness you will have a lot more respect for what we threaten others with and what they threaten us with.

A good wake up call.

Yes.

I now realize we need more guns, larger nukes, and more of them.

I wonder if anyone committed suicide because of this?

Or heart attack or stroke

Or had a first homosexual experience?

Okay so lets assume, if I lived there, I wake up to an alert about an inbound nuclear missile. Just exactly what am I supposed to do about it? There's nowhere to run.

Hey, it's liberal Hawaii, anythings possible...

OMG, I think I will kill myself because I'm fixing to die, lol.

Believe me, a nuke will kill someone as quickly as a shotgun to the head. Why bother with it?

You are surrounded by mountain ranges everywhere you look.

Shielding and distance is your friend!

I'll let you figure out the rest..

Jim Jones called this kind of drill a "white night," a test-run to gauge public reaction to disturbing orders.

Since people would rather call 911 than duck & cover, I'm calling this drill a big FAIL.

you falsely assume people can't make a phone call in a covered position

38 minutes to cancel is an eternity if it was just a mistake. Curiously enough it takes 37 minutes for a NK missile to strike Hawaii per the below link..
Something's up?

a sneaky drill to see what the response from the public would be if it really went off?

There will be no response for the next one.

Basic civil defense procedures have been established since the early 1960's. You should know them, as they will vastly improve your chances of survival.

Simply stated:

1. Understand how a nuclear explosion destroys stuff. There is a flash, a shock wave, and heat. Get low, get covered, stay calm. It's like hiding from a flaming tornado.

2. Understand how fallout does and doesn't work. Find a safe place, have a good supply of water, and wait a week or two before emerging.

People forget the use of humor once it becomes useful.

RE: Panic in Hawaii as Civil Defense accidentally issues alert for 'inbound ballistic
The older civil defense manager claimed it was his fault.
He said that warning times are critical and that he made the
decision to warn. (from what I could understand of his talk)

I think they had some actionable evidence of a contact, perhaps a
computer glitch, or what not, but I think it wasn't just fat fingers
pushing the wrong button.

Be that as it may, consider this; with modern super-stealth technology
an incoming attack might be very difficult to discern from a flock of
gulls on a radar scope. Hyper-sonic weapons make flight times very
short.

Then the real question of ufos comes into play.

If a ufo is detected flying in our direction, how are the officials going to
react? 1) they don't know what ufos are. A ufo could be an incoming
stealth missile.
2) If it was a ufo, then how is the government going to report this to the public?

They'll report it as a mistake.

RE: Panic in Hawaii as Civil Defense accidentally issues alert for 'inbound ballistic
WATCH: Chilling video shows terrified Hawaiians hiding their kids in storm drains while Trump golfed

"Can you imagine receiving such a terrifying alert then having to decide to stuff your kids down a storm drain so they might have a chance to live? Having to suppress every fear you have of toxic gases, or your kid getting stuck somehow, or maybe the storm drain not being an adequate shelter to begin with, all on the random chance that their world might otherwise be about to end?

Many hours after the false alert, Trump has still said nothing about the false alert, but if Kim Jong Un wanted to launch a missile at Hawaii, he now knows our President* will not give a single f*#k about it if he's golfing. We can't let little things like ballistic missiles mess up his vacation from doing nothing, can we?

Eventually, Trump was briefed on the false alert, which a White House spokeswoman calls "purely a state exercise" despite an overwhelming number of reports that the message was sent entirely in error."
