This has been mostly true for my family.

This is the misery map and shows that the entire United States is being affected by widespread influenza.

Starve a fever, feed a cold.

Rely on common sense and you'll be ok. Follow medical advice (which often contradicts common sense), and take your chances.

Or we could destroy all the old badgers in one foul swoop.

I recall reading hospital survival stats that if anyone with pneumonia goes into any hospital they have a 34 percent chance of dying. Not good odds really.

Ive had flu and pneumonia on several occasions, im copd with asthma.

Most people dont realize that the virus flu can turn into bacterial pneumonia because the phlem that flu leaves in the lungs begins to rot. By then its pneumonia.
If doctors are treating you for a virus with fluids and steriods and no antibotics, chances are good that if you're sick enough to be in the Er room then you have probably already developed into pneumonia and you will need antibotics, something many doctors just won't give out anymore to just anyone.

I hope anyone sick this winter gets better.
Both my husband and I have caught the flu and after 2 weeks of coughing nothing up we begsn taking our survival antibiotics and our stash of tamiflu.

We are both over 50 so we cant play around with health issues and anymore, I just dont trust doctors as I am allergic to steroids and they always force them on me if I have to be in a hospital bed.

Stay hydrated is the 1st thing to do.

Antibiotics do not work on viruses. They work on bacteria.

Where is Eric Frien and sanofi when you need them?

But it isn’t just Alabama.
The flu epidemic is spreading across the US.

18 people have died in Dallas, Texas from the flu, 4 in Tennessee, and 27 have died in California. Hospital waiting rooms are jammed with flu victims, the doctors are running out of medication, ambulance services are strained and even IV bags are in short supply. Influenza is impacting 46 states.

In total, the flu has killed 85 adults and 20 children in the United States and last week, the CDC reported that the hospitalization rate for people with the flu DOUBLED.

Here’s the CDC’s map of the flu’s spread throughout the US as of the last day of 2017.

pffft.
I can remember when they used to tell us statistically 36,000 people a year die from the flu. This one has some catching up to do. I never believed that figure personally.

I had it but was diagnosed in early Dec. I am still not 100%.
I have a family member who works in a major hospital in B'ham and can attest she said that they had people in the hallways on most floors and had no closed units. one patient she said was a healthy male other than having the flu. She made him get up and walk to his new room from the hall where he was waiting in a gurney. To keep pneumonia from setting in they have to get up from time to time.
When she came in the next day, she found out he had to be intubated during the night and was borderline if he was going to make it.

I found that very shocking even though I know from first hand experience how ill I was that first two-three weeks.

I'm a young badger, but you're more than welcome to try. I know many old badgers, past the age of 60, that would wipe the floor with my generation.

In reference to the quote in the center, the saying is starve a cold, feed a fever.

Buy a cheat nebulizer, put Cepacol mouth wash in it and inhale it It will kill the Pneumonia virus. Or in an emergency put some Cepacol in a pan and heat it and breath the steam. Do this as often as needed.

This tip came from an engineer on space shuttles. It didn't work for what they needed, so they marketed it as a mouth wash....

gee. must be a hell of a flu.

or somebody sprayed something.

im leaning more towards this...
i havent had a cold in almost ten years.
or flu.
now all of us do in my house.

2018 is the 100th anniversary of the Flu of 1918 that killed hundreds of millions of people. My view is that this year's flu has been weaponized.

Truth not being told, this is from one county alone:

Here everyone caught it at the same time.
That's what makes me think it was sprayed to boost pharmaceutical profits.
We are nothing but slaves to them.

Titanic! If that's really you, good to see you! You are missed!!!

All my nieces and nephews have this flu and a couple of them have side issues (like asthma), so I'm hoping they all recover without incident. I had heard this morning on HLN that it was getting really baaad out there.

Chicken soup with ginger, garlic, onions and turmeric. I swear by the stuff.
