When we aren't living in third world countries, there is no reason to treat law-abiding citizens as though we are third-world countries.

OP must mean disabled. No way hes paralyzed.

Left side paralyze from accident with tractor trailer and also epileptic cause of crash

I too have epilepsy. But I'm on disability. You have to jump through the governments hoops, And have a address to receive all the paperwork they send you (I used my sisters). Welfare paid for my room and board till I eventually got my disability benefits. I had to pay welfare back every penny they lent me. But now I have an apartment, internet, a phone And I'm not hungry. You need the initiative to get the ball rolling or you will never have a safe warm place to go.

Not sure if anyone is interested but thought I'd make a thread letting lopers and guests learn about how Ontario,Canada treats it's disabled and how I'm surviving through the winter cold while being homeless,so if I don't post after a few days guess I froze or.. but u yeah Ontario Liberal gov't doesn't give a shite about disabled people . If possible I might add a youtube vid of my time being homeless, especially if I see a cop doing a beat down or anything strange that happened Cheers

Welcome to Canada.

Here in Montreal we've got cops handing out fines to the homeless for being in the metro trying to get warm.

Absolutely! This is nothing less than a sin and the wages of sin are death.
Canada just like any Godless nation will one day come to regret its choices.

When the temperature was -25c. with a windchill factor of -40c. It didn't take much to be "warmer."

Just the same we took a homeless man in because shelters wouldn't let him bring his dog.

But as bad as the shelters are I'm even angrier with the churches in my area because as Christians they should have opened their doors to the homeless and provided them with a warm place to take shelter.

In Ontario, Canada.. you do NOT 'have to' live on the streets. There are NUMEROUS options that are available to you. Why arent you using them?

Sorry youre having a difficult time, and I get your point about Wynne.

Have you went to your local disability office/welfare/community assistance centers/etc ?

Youve left this pretty 'up in the air' as to WHY youre in this current situation.

More details are needed!!

So you're paralyzed and homeless but you do have the luxury of an internet connection and the time to visit a forum for lunatics.

See once I spend a few nights or rather a few hours in the cold on a bench because I coudn't stay home because of the pain caused by continious zapping with dew weapons.

What i learned on those memorable nights is that no one can survive the cold of the night especially in wintertime! So I doubt a disabled person could manage to do that stay healthy and haul himself to an internet cafe to mess around with lunatics.

Nice try dough.
Yeah even sleeping in a sleeping bag when it gets down to 50 degrees I feel like I got hypothermia I don't understand how these homeless people can sleep in the freezing cold that's impossible your body doesn't generate any heat when you're sleeping what happens is people are wide awake all night long and then try to find someplace to sleep during the day that they won't get arrested

Living in my van

You really really ought to spend a night on a bench then you can call yourself homeless.

Word of advice make sure that never happens especailly in wintertime.

Is this a homeless dick measuring contest? If youre living in a van or a bench youre homeless.

A vans more insulated than a tent...A tent Trumps a bench.....What about a rear doorway with an air conditioning exhaust....?

Everything I've ever told you, including this, is a lie.

Everybody is so absolutely clueless how useless these public services are now that they've been taken over by the enemy. There are no Public Services fool. They use every trick that can possibly imagine to keep the money for themselves.

Welcome to Canada.

Here in Montreal we've got cops handing out fines to the homeless for being in the metro trying to get warm.

Because they have other options. There are VERY few cases where getting warm in the metro is the only route to take. And the police OFTEN go way above and beyond to help those truly in need. They also come to learn over time which cases are 'real' and which cases arent.

I have a 21 year old sister who pulled this sh*t last winter in Toronto in fact, with a group of others who all had places to go as well. Collecting welfare cheques at their parents or friends houses(where they could also stay), but it was MUCH 'cooler' to be 'homeless' and take money from the 'CIS Gender working scum' who owe them.

Its not always as it seems is my point. Some of those people actually want to be there. Unbelievable I know. But true.

So what are the options? Force them into mental health facilities? Rehabs? Jail?

Its just not so cut and dry and each case is uniquely unique. But I can say with certainty that there are many that just simply feel its an amazing 'life experience' facepalm

A conversation I had with a group of 'homeless' summed up.. 'I am not working FOR any higher ups' and 'Im not working WITH spoiled brats'. Yeah..

In the cases that are 'real' I have great empathy.. I highly recommend the documentary 'Jupiters Wife'.. its an amazing look at this issue.. and will make anyone think long and hard about their personal views on the 'homeless issue' Heartflowers
