In Ontario, Canada.. you do NOT 'have to' live on the streets. There are NUMEROUS options that are available to you. Why arent you using them?

Sorry youre having a difficult time, and I get your point about Wynne.

Have you went to your local disability office/welfare/community assistance centers/etc ?

Youve left this pretty 'up in the air' as to WHY youre in this current situation.

More details are needed!!
Everybody is so absolutely clueless how useless these public services are now that they've been taken over by the enemy. There are no Public Services fool. They use every trick that can possibly imagine to keep the money for themselves.

facepalm

..sigh..

..yep.. okay then..

Fact still remains.. there ARE other options. Maybe not in some places around the world. But here, in Ontario, there are. Maybe you have to follow some 'rules' or make a personal effort to improve your situation, but there is absolutely no true reason for a person who is mentally sound to be on the street here. Some may need people to advocate for them no doubt, but those services are available also. You have to want to do it though. Imagine that. Personal responsibility is 'a thing'. Instead we want everyone to be 'victims' and keep on encouraging it. Time to stop.

Not sure if anyone is interested but thought I'd make a thread letting lopers and guests learn about how Ontario,Canada treats it's disabled and how I'm surviving through the winter cold while being homeless,so if I don't post after a few days guess I froze or.. but u yeah Ontario Liberal gov't doesn't give a shite about disabled people . If possible I might add a youtube vid of my time being homeless, especially if I see a cop doing a beat down or anything strange that happened Cheers

Can't you move to a warmer climate ? Or is this not practical for you...

It seems if you are homeless ...you could just drive on down to arizona. ....

Welcome to Canada.

Here in Montreal we've got cops handing out fines to the homeless for being in the metro trying to get warm.

Living in my van will be using either free wifi or data that's available on my cell until it gets cut off, my homeless journey begins tonight will use this lap top to post for as long as I can Cheers
Living in my van
That's not really what I would call being homeless

You really really ought to spend a night on a bench then you can call yourself homeless.

Word of advice make sure that never happens especailly in wintertime.

Dude you must be a rich snob

Living in a van is homeless

I thought Canada was just giving money away to immigrants to live there & you mean to tell me they don't have any welfare programs for legal citizens who are disabled?

I went to a dr to try and get help he said someone would call then left the room, nobody did. Seems a person 'me' born in Ontario Canada gets shafted where as an immigrant gets anything and everything they want
1dunno1 I hope Google picks up this thread and somebody let's Kathleen Wynne/ Ontario premier know that the doctors she so highly talks/flaunts about in the news are nothing yes Sayers but only for immigrants and not for Canadians

I believe you when you say they care more about foreigners getting aid then yourself getting the aid.

In California they have the money to erect large green signs with tax dollars proclaiming California as a sanctuary state but just take a look at all of the homeless alone in this one camp that these same politicians want to kick out with no where to go.

Do you think that bringing in many more thousands of refugees and immigrants will make it easier for you to find affordable shelter?

affordable shelter -> This is the main key to this therad.

In civilized countries homeless people have FREE shelter.

Canada is a civilized country and as Justjoe said:
Quote:"Ontario Liberal gov't doesn't give a shite about disabled people"
Ontario has a liberal government, so

[ ]Either Justjoe is lying or he's just another turdtard/russian troll in disguise spreading bullshit on this site.[/size]

If justjoe is not lying, here is a resource he can take advantage of:

https://211ontario.ca/211-topics/homelessness/

Unless he prefers to use the internet to come here and make drama instead of trying to thaw his ass...

He can also get some help the good old conservative way: Stop whining and get a job! If you're homeless, that's your fault. You're lazy and do not expect someone to spend a penny to keep you going.

So you're paralyzed and homeless but you do have the luxury of an internet connection and the time to visit a forum for lunatics.

See once I spend a few nights or rather a few hours in the cold on a bench because I coudn't stay home because of the pain caused by continious zapping with dew weapons.

What i learned on those memorable nights is that no one can survive the cold of the night especially in wintertime! So I doubt a disabled person could manage to do that stay healthy and haul himself to an internet cafe to mess around with lunatics.

Nice try dough.

I believe him, for someone homeless the internet is an escape, entertainment and also a necessary resource when you can research possibilities such as finding assistance, scouting places to sleep etc

if you have a sleeping bag, better yet a tent, it wouldn't be THAT difficult at least if you're not disabled , how you'd cope being disabled I hope I never have to try to find out

in US a lot of homeless aren't aware of aid that is available, for example just about all could get food stamps by using a local church or something as an address to communicate with social services

Actually, you can thank your conservative government under Mike Harris for all the clawbacks to disabled people and how he emptied hospitals for rehabilitation and mental health basically renderering them all homeless virtually over night. Or maybe that was before your time, or you've forgotten, or have a conservative agenda.

But yes, there could be at least some government pretending to care or pretending to do something. I agree, it is a shameful situation because the fat cats are riding the gravy train while a lot of people here are really suffering, disabled and elderly too.

But that's just Canada's dirty little secret to the world.

I have a quadriplegic friend in Ontario. Since Canada pays individuals based on the physical loss (like a finger etc) or disability, he has been collecting at least $3,500/month for the last 20 years since his accident. Why aren't you doing that?

I know right. I grew up being told that social services and insurance company's screw you at every possible chance they get. Aside from taking 6 months to get my disability from the government of Canada. My company's ins company and social services took good care of me.

Nope, you just need to fill out a lot of paper work, dot all I's and cross all t's. And you're set. Laziness is the biggest problem with people who need social assistance.
