RE: Grenfell fire: manslaughter chargers being considered!
After a two-and-a-half hour meeting in Downing Street with victims, residents, community leaders and volunteers, Mrs May said she had heard their concerns.

She added: 'The response of the emergency services, NHS and the community has been heroic.

'But, frankly, the support on the ground for families who needed help or basic information in the initial hours after this appalling disaster was not good enough.'

Mrs May said money from the £5 million emergency fund to help victims buy food and clothes was already being handed out and more funding would be allocated if needed.

She has ordered daily progress reports on housing for those affected.
Mrs May added: 'There have been huge frustrations that people do not know who to talk to, that they can't get through on the council hotlines.
'I have ordered that more staff be deployed across the area, wearing high visibility clothing, so they can easily be found, dispense advice and ensure the right support is provided. Phone lines will have more staff.

I would concentrate my efforts in improving the law and enforcement of fire code so that this could be prevented in the future.

Or just not give subsidized housing to third worlders.

Why even manufacture a flammable cladding.. There lies the way of madness..

{\displaystyle N=R^{\ast }\cdot f_{p}\cdot n_{e}\cdot f_{\ell }\cdot f_{i}\cdot f_{c}\cdot L}

Money.. It looks the same, it is just cheaper. So people will buy it just like the Grenfell tower company. They saved £6000. That's a price worth risking this many lives over, apparently.

Quote:In the wake of the fire, it has emerged that the panels fitted to the outside of Grenfell Tower during an £8.7m two-year refurbishment completed in 2016 were the cheaper flammable version of two types made by the same company, which cost £22 each, compared to the fire-resistant version which cost £24 each.

The Reynobond panels, made by a US firm, are aluminium coated with a flammable plastic core. The total saving from using the non fire-resistant panels has been estimated at around £6,000.

suitcases already packed before he thought to alert his neighbors. Did he make even an attempt to put it out himself or call the fire service?

unbelieveable. govt. f*cks up and puts deadly flammable cladding on the building and people like you blame someone else. you're a special kind of spastic, eh

I hope you are aiming that equally at all parties, given that this company (ALMOs) came about as part of the Labour drive to take more properties from councils control and place them into private hands as they considered the Tory approach was to slow..

It is interesting that while Blairs Labour created some 75 ALMOS, nearly 40 have returned to council control since the Liberals and Tories took control..

I suspect they are permissible under EU law.. which means we can not block their sale, even if we block or control their use..

Had a similar issue with Lorries killing so many cyclists in London, it was impossible to make changes to create a safer cycling environment as it would mean EU wide changes..

No, they are not. Banned in the EU and the US, and now we found out also not allowed to be used in the UK.
The problem is they get away with it if nothing like this happens, why is why fire safety checkups should be done by the fire brigade again, instead of trusting that the owner or construction company can be trusted.

This building to my knowledge was Govt owned operated by another private entity.
And none of those entities will be held liable- because Govt is always right and blameless.

If they where banned in the EU then how where they manufactured and sold within the EU, maybe what you mean to say, is that they are banned from certain use.. which means their sale can not be blocked unless the EU bans them.

Ok so I will reframe the question is, can the UK ban a product the EU allows to be sold?

But you are right in the context that the Fire Brigade should be allowed to check, however given the push for austerity, not just in the UK but across the EU there simply is not the funds while everyone is in austerity mode for that kind of expense.

So that then brings into question Austerity, and not just in the UK, but across the EU.
