No agreed upon design

No Right of Way/Easement purchased or in negotiations

No real plan that I can find

Folks seem to think, "give trump 5 billion and he'll build the wall"

No he won't, even if we give him 5 billion, it'll be at least 3 yrs before they start construction.

And 5 billion is a mere raindrop in the bucket to what the final construction cost will be

Just look at what the F-35 fighter just has cost(so far) and it's still not a "daily driver"

RE: the Wall: Can anyone show what'd we would be getting for our 5 billion ?
The cost would be at least TRIPLE the estimates.

IF concrete is needed for footings (a wall base) in remote locations
how do they get it there? Concrete Delivery Trucks don't usually
drive 150 miles each direction to deliver 10 yards.
It would be
insanely expensive.

So they would need MULTIPLE Concrete Batch plants to be built CLOSE
to the construction areas. And then there is the aggregate/sand mix
needed to make the Concrete.

They would have to stockpile a MILLION YARDS of sand and gravel
and then move it to the MULTIPLE Concrete Batch plants.

it's a f*cking wall, you need a goddamned design? Here's an idea, look at any wall, look at any wall any other country put up. jesus

distract, distract, prevent unity, prevent change, prevent reform, no, fight over the president, fight over left and right, fight fight, do not unite, do not awake, do not threaten us. its why you were divided in the first place.

One Ohio class Submarine costs $4 billion. No one bats an eye. Security, you get what you pay for. Or settle for less and risk your life because you didn't want to invest in security though you had the money. People have a hard time distinguishing spending from investing.

All for something we don't need that'll be easily circumvented.

Drones can do the job of the wall at a fraction of the cost.

The money allocated for the wall will be picked at and stolen piece by piece by the politicians and contractors involved. Total waste, what the govt does best.

But ppl are really ignorant and don't care.

Ever hear of the anti deficiency act?

You should look it up.

Every one of the things you mentioned has a cost attached.

None of it can be undertaken without Congressional funding FIRST.

Liberal schools failed you.

And that's way the Dems only want to give 1 billion, get this stuff done or studied and THEN look at actual construction funding

Why the aversion to going step by step ?

Another link saying that just 722 miles of wall on the 2000 mile border will cost 18 billion

https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/pol...919104002/

"The U.S. Government Accountability Office report, published Monday, found the agency overseeing the planning and construction of border barriers, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, has identified 17 priority areas for wall construction without doing a cost analysis for each area. The cost to construct 722 miles of barriers in those priority locations was estimated at $18 billion.

But costs vary widely depending on topography — increasing with the steepness of the terrain — and the price of land, especially in Texas, where most parcels along the border are privately held, the report states.

It doesn't exist because Trump doesn't even have an approved design.

Any method used, solid concrete or even a border fence will require
something that DOES NOT EXIST in the locations they intend to build.
They will need several MOBILE Concrete batch Plants close to the wall
construction area.

Go look at any Sand Gravel Concrete company anywhere and you
will see what they need. Even if they Truck in all the sand and gravel
they still need the Concrete trucks and the Batch Plant that fills the
trucks.

And they would need a new batch plant every 50 miles or to move
a mobile Batch Plant.

It would take MONTHS just to get the plan in order than at least a
year to stock the materials and builds the Batch Plants.

RE: the Wall: Can anyone show what'd we would be getting for our 5 billion ?
People will argue anything so long as they can import cheap labor. Never mind the cost of illegal immigrants to our healthcare system alone. Refuse healthcare to illegal immigrants and toss that money into the kitty. How about schooling costs? Toss that in there too. And of course the legal system. Court costs, incarceration expenses too, toss it in the kitty. Tax payers are already footing the bill for the downside of illegal immigrants, shouldn't we at least try to curb our spending with our money as we see fit?

Plus they have to deal with all of the immanent domain issues. Folks will have to be relocated in some areas.
